Top 7 AI News This Week - Sora 2, Claude, Manus 1.5, And More!
October 17, 2025
Good morning,
There’s a ton of development and AI releases the past few days and I found it difficult to talk about just one.
So I’ve listed the most newsworthy ones below:
It’s a 2-minute read.
1. SORA 2 Now Available To ALL ChatGPT Users
OpenAI has updated Sora 2 with new features: Pro users now have access to Storyboards on the web for more structured video creation, while all users can generate up to 15-second videos on both the app and web. Pro users get an extension to 25 seconds on the web, enhancing creative flexibility for longer clips.
2. Report: The Internet Now Has More AI Content Than Human Content
A recent analysis from Graphite indicates that as of November 2024, AI-generated articles have surpassed human-written ones in volume on the web, with AI content rising from about 5% in 2020 to over 50% by mid-2025, highlighting the rapid shift in online content creation.
3. “Skills For Claude” Is Now More Customizable
Anthropic introduced Skills for Claude, allowing users to package specialized knowledge, instructions, scripts, and resources into reusable folders that Claude can load on demand for complex tasks. This extends across Claude.ai, the new Claude Code for coding workflows, and the API, making agents more efficient and customizable for work.
4. Manus 1.5 Is Out

Manus 1.5 Is Now Better, Faster, And With Unlimited Context
Manus 1.5 is a new release focused on app development, offering faster processing, higher-quality outputs, and unlimited context handling. It includes an upgraded builder for creating full-stack web apps in a single prompt, complete with backends, logins, databases, and custom domains.
5. Chatfishing With AI Is Now More Common In Dating

“Chatfishing” is when someone uses AI to create charming online conversations on dating apps, but their real personality disappoints in person.
Chatfishing refers to using AI tools to generate charismatic, engaging conversations on dating apps, only for the real person to fall short in personality during in-person meetings, often compared to a "thumbtack" in dullness. It's a growing concern, sometimes tied to scams, where AI proxies create misleading charm.
6. - Google’s VEO 3.1 Is Here

Google's Veo 3.1, now available in Flow and via API, brings improved video generation with better prompt adherence, precise editing, integrated audio features like dialogue and ambient sounds, and higher-quality outputs. It supports multiple generation modes for flexible workflows.
7. Google’s “ReasoningBank” To Fix AI Alzheimer’s

Google's ReasoningBank is a new AI system designed for agents to learn from their own mistakes in real time by storing and retrieving reasoning memories. During tasks, it pulls relevant past learnings to avoid repetition and integrates new insights back into the bank, enabling self-evolution and better performance over time.
It’s insane how many new AI tools and models released this week.
I’m also struggling to keep track of everything lol.
Talk soon,
Brian
