New ChatGPT Update Called "GPT-5.1" Is Coming—Will It Blow Our Minds Or Is It Another Bust?
5-Minute Read:
Good morning!
Okay, I have a few things to talk about:

Last Week’s AI For Business Las Vegas
Firstly, it's been a wild time last week during the AI For Business Vegas event.
Super fun to meet hundreds of business owners who are all-in on discovering how to implement AI into their businesses.
So far? Nothing but positive feedback. People had an absolute blast.
But anyway, I'm back home since yesterday, and who would've thought that I'd come across a leak about a possible release of GPT-5.1 in the next few weeks.
I know many people, including myself, were a bit disappointed with GPT-5 when it first launched.
It felt underwhelming at release considering how excited everyone was.
But here's the thing: it got much better as OpenAI "fixed" the problems that people were complaining about.
And now it's better than GPT-4o, which is what it was supposed to do from the start.
Rumors suggests ChatGPT is getting an even bigger upgrade with the GPT-5.1 model where it can handle 1 Million Tokens worth of context

Here's what's supposedly getting fixed:
Speed: Faster responses, especially when handling complex tasks
Reasoning: Deeper thinking with fewer logical errors—GPT-5.1 Reasoning variant can "think longer" for better answers.
Context: Can handle 256k to 1 million tokens (that's like reading entire books in one go)
Safety: Better health and safety guardrails for sensitive topics
Instruction Following: Actually does what you ask it to do (finally!)
Coding: 75%+ accuracy on tough coding benchmarks—beats Claude and Grok in debugging tasks
Multimodal: 85%+ on vision + reasoning tasks—leads the pack
Cost: Up to 23x cheaper for simple tasks through tiered effort levels
And it outperforms other models like Claude, Grok, and Gemini in specific areas.
But I'd take these rumors with a grain of salt until official benchmarks are released.
Leaks are exciting, but real performance matters more than rumors.
Here's my question for you:
If you're using Claude or Grok right now, would you switch to GPT-5.1 once it's released?
If you're already a ChatGPT fan, what are your expectations for GPT-5.1?
